1. When I came home and found you on the sofa, asleep, the telephone in your hand.

2. The night we stood on the beach and watched the waves, glowing bright blue with the luminescence of millions of dinoflagellates.

3. In the car, driving to that same beach, how you kept pulling up your skirt while I drove, how you put my hand between your legs.

4. The notes I found around the house: “11:05. Why won’t you answer your phone? 11:08. Why won’t you answer your phone?”
